I love canvas and want to create a course separate from my institution. Am I able to do a private course or must it be affiliated with an existing school?

Canvas is able to be used for a variety of purposes. If you're looking for a stand-alone option, Free for Teacher could be a great resource to explore.

Thank You Kristin. I'm trying to figure out who would host the course? Since I use the CMS through my community college district, I need information on how to gather tuition and host the shell (the course itself)...
I need to decide soon. I'm looking at Circle.so but I REALLY LOVE CANVAS
