If I create a group set and allow students to self-enroll, can I make an assignment that is a group assignment? The guide says groups created by students cannot be used for Group Assignments and will not appear in drop down. Also, is the same true for a discussion that I want to be by groups?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Dianne,
As long as YOU create the Group Set and I think the groups within it, then yes you can use them for a group assignment or discussion group even with self sign up enabled. The issue is only for groups that the students create themselves as they don't belong to a Group set which you can specify for group assignments or discussions.

Great! That's what I hoped. I wasn't even aware students can create their own groups on their own without first setting up a group set. I will be sure to create group sets before telling students to self enroll so I can assign group assignments and discussions.
Thank you for your reply.
