[ARCHIVED] Can mastery paths be copied or exported?

I have set up a competency-based course using mastery paths. I have need to export this course, or make it available through Commons, to give it to others who want to use it on their own Canvas instances. Also, I need to be able to copy the course within my own Canvas instance. However, any copying of the course, whether a course copy from within my own instance, an export/import, or through Commons, strips out the mastery paths. Setting them up all over again after any copying of the course is untenable. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a solution?

So, I found part of the problem. By default, in a blank course, mastery paths were turned off. If I turn them on before doing the import or copy, the mastery paths come over mostly correctly. Mostly, because on content pages, even though the checkbox for "Allow in mastery paths" comes through checked, it behaves as though it is not. Students are able to see and access pages that should not be available until they've taken the pretest. Editing the page -- actually just clicking Edit, doing nothing, and then clicking Save (since, as I mentioned, the mastery path checkbox is already checked) -- fixes the problem, but this must be done for each page and can be rather time consuming.

I'm really glad you found a partial solution! I think that last part about the pages should be reported to Support as a bug. That can't be working as intended.

It's currently on hold because the engineers are waiting to see more users with this problem. So please send it in to Canvas Support!

I am experiencing the same issue with the "Allow in Mastery Paths" box checked on Pages after an export import (same instance, different section).  Same issue as well with students being able to view and interact with the content within the path, even though it should be hidden.  I am using the same solution as mentioned above - editing and saving, however it is insanely time consuming.  I am concerned about scalability with multiple sections (using master course model)    Does anyone know if using the Canvas BluePrint tool help as a stop-gap until the bug is fixed (one series of updates instead of within each of the sections) with Mastery Paths?

We are now finding that although the page setting "Allow in mastery paths" is sticking when you do a course copy, all of our MasteryPaths themselves are not. The overall setting for MasteryPaths in every course is on by default. Is anyone else experiencing this?
