[ARCHIVED] Can't record audio in Canvas comments. I use a MacBook Pro on OS 11.6 Big Sur

I am trying to post comments on student assignments in canvas using the media features to record video. The video works perfectly, but the audio does not. My mike functions in dictation on chrome, it works in zoom, etc. I've asked my administrator about this, and she suggested I ask here. Thanks for your help!

I have the same issue and no one from the campus Canvas staff or these links solves the problem. I've restored Chrome, checked my mic, tried it on Firefox, and nothing works. Please fix this!

I have a related problem: In speedgrader, I click on the media recorder, and a little window opens, but the wheel of impatience never stops spinning. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.
