[ARCHIVED] Canvas + Powerschool & Final Exams

Good evening!  

Looking for some ideas from people using both Canvas and PS.  I recently took over these roles and I'm trying to learn best practices.  In Powerschool at finals time, we set up a "final grade" term of E1 for the final exam.  This allows teachers to do some term weighting for the semester (Q1: 40% Q2: 40% E1(final): 20%).  Canvas only acknowledges Q1 and Q2.  This creates a very confusing scenario where Canvas and PS never match at the semester breaks due to this type of setup.  It also gets confusing with Categorical Weighting.  

What's the best way to handle this and make it a better experience for everyone involved?

Canvas grade book is handles grading periods from its own end under the account https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Admin-Guide/How-do-I-add-grading-periods-in-an-account/ta-p/107 this is why they would look different as we use the grading periods from our system and PowerSchool has its own.
