[ARCHIVED] Canvas and iOS compatibility

Is Canvas not fully compatible with iOS devices? I'm currently building my courses for the next school year and I'm having trouble seeing the images I upload to my pages (png and jpg). I can successfully see the images when I log in with a Chromebook but I do not see them when I use any Apple device. Any suggestions to fix this?

Hi,  @diana_vasquezmo  Welcome to the Community! Are you testing this on an iOS device using Safari 13.1? I noticed this note in the following lesson:

What are the browser and computer requirements for Canvas? 

Note: Safari 13.1 contains an update that may cause issues with downloading files, chat alerts, and displaying images in Canvas. Canvas engineers are currently working on a solution for this issue. Until then, you can avoid errors with files and images by disabling cross-site tracking prevention in Safari when using Canvas.

You may also be able to avoid this issue by using the native mobile Canvas app for iOS instead of Safari. I'll mark this assumed answered for now but please let us know if this helps!

Hi! I'd also like to add that the Canvas Student app requires iOS 12.0 or higher.

So I downloaded the Canvas Student app. Can I see the courses I am creating with this app or does it only work in student view mode?

My experience is that canvas would only download from the App store if with iOS 13 and up. Please share how to download and use it with my iOS 12.4.8. Thank you very much.

Are you using safari as the browser, by any chance? Our I.T. folks have told us that Safari doesn't play well with Canvas, so it's best to download a browser like Firefox or Chrome as an alternative if you use Macs.
