[ARCHIVED] Canvas did not extend time on a quiz

I have a quiz where students are given 30 minutes to complete it.  I ask students at the 28 minute mark if they need extra time.  I have it set to give them 5 minutes from the current time.  I have had it happen twice now where I gave students extra time and my moderate quiz says it gave them the extra time, but the students reported that the quiz ended after the original 2 minutes. Other students received the extended time and only those 2 students did not get the added time.  The first time I would consider it a mistake by the student but the second time is more than a student error.  I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue and if there is anything I can do to ensure this does not happen again.

I have never seen this or had it reported by my faculty.  If you have the data that shows it did not grant more time, I would highly recommend opening a ticket with Canvas Support.  This can be done from the course by clicking on Help > Report a Problem.

Thank you Robbie. I am not sure how I would show the data.  The quiz log does not register that time was extended even on students I know received extended time.  If you know of anything I am missing let me know.

I would still recommend opening a ticket with Support.  They have tools and access to information that us that support the community do not.  They can look at the settings and what is available to the students.

We just recently had this come up and I did some testing with a user in the instructor role in one browser and a user in the student role in another browser. The quiz was for 5 minutes. 

As soon as the student started the quiz, as the instructor I moderated the quiz, clicked on the clock icon for the user and added 5 minutes. I tested both options (End the quiz 10 minutes from the current end time and End the quiz 10 minutes from now). 

In each case the student was kicked out of the quiz after the initial 5 minutes, yet in the instructor's browser, the timer is still counting down with the extended time.

I created a video of this and filed a ticket with Instructure.
