I have a student who does not go by her legal name.  How can I use a preferred name so that it shows up in discussions?

Hello there,  @pillingmj  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  Your school may be pulling student names from your school's SIS (Student Information System) directly into Canvas.  So, you would want to reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator or someone at your school's Online Learning / eLearning department who would be able to help assist you with this question.  We here in the Community would not be able to change this kind of information for you because we do not have access to your school's Canvas environment.  We only have access to our own Canvas environments at our own schools.  I hope this helps, Michael.  Let Community members know if you have any questions about this...thanks!
