[ARCHIVED] Commons pages and relative links

We have a page which was created in a course and links to an item in the course navigation (specifically, the Syllabus). The link was added using the Content Selector on the right-hand side of the page. When copying that page to another course, that link would update to be relative to the course it was copied into.

However, when that page is put into Commons, that link is changing to a very long URL starting with: 

https ://common-cartridge-viewer.netlify.com/?compact&manifest=https://cartridge-manager-iad-prod.inscloudgate.net/entries-... [space added after https to stop the link being converted to text].

Are links on pages no longer relative when the page is put to Commons?

Hi David,

Course navigation cannot be previewed in Commons, it works only in Canvas. However, if you share such a resource to Commons and then import this resource to Canvas, the link will work in the Canvas course.

This issue actually became apparent when I was QAing a course and discovered this mysterious link. Following the page back I discovered the page was pulled from Commons and the problem link was also on the page in Commons (you've explained why). Following back further, I found that the original page that was put into Commons had the correct link. So, the link changed when being put into Commons but has not corrected itself when placed in the new course, going by your suggestion. I'll try place the page from Commons again and see if that fixes it.

But just to confirm, if possible, you're certain that relative links from pages put into Commons will update when placed into a new course from Commons?
