[ARCHIVED] Companion sections- how to trigger enrollment into two sections when enrolled into one

I am looking to funnel students across a few sections into a companion course. This course has information they all need however is a unique course to itself. 

We use a homegrown SIS so I am looking for a Canvas based solution, even if it is manual.

Does anyone have a way to ensure enrollment into one course triggers enrollment into another course?
