The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
I created a Conferzoom meeting on Canvas for a transfer workshop we were hosting for the transfer center (community college) and a student clicked on the link and got the following error:
"User information missing, did not receive: e-mail address. Ensure your user profile in your learning platform includes the missing material. If your profile does, please have your administrator ensure your LMS is configured to send all user information via LTI External Tools."
I went on my Canvas and tried student view and clicked on the Conferzoom link and got the same message.
However, the student was able to join the meeting when she was given the link via email.
Any idea why this happened?

I have a student who is experiencing close to the same error: User information missing did not receive: last name. Ensure your user profile in your learning platform includes the missing material. If your profile does, please have your administrator ensure your LMS is configured to send all user information via LTI External Tools. I have contacted Zoom support and Canvas support and they can't figure it out. Can you please assist? Thank you!
