Is there a way to determine how many times a student posts to the discussion posts across the modules?
Hello there, @mpaterno ...
There aren't any tools available on the front-end of Canvas that would let you easily count discussion posts. However, @James has developed his own method to do this via a Google Spreadsheet: How to Count Student Discussion Posts. This is one of his Canvancements (Canvas Enhancements) that are not part of the core Canvas product.
I hope that this will be of help to you. If you have questions about anything in James' blog posting, please post those there for him. Thanks! Take care, stay safe, and be well.
I downloaded and ran the enhancement to count discussion posts. It worked great except a few students who I know posted do not show up?
This really should be a default option in the front end of Canvas.
I can't believe this data isn't available to instructors as a common feature. I really miss being able to easily export this information from D2L as a csv file. It seems like Canvas is awesome for people familiar with HTML and whatever the API thing is. Guess the learning curve will be steeper than I anticipated.
