The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.

Currently, this is not something that is possible in Canvas. If you are using weighted assignment groups, it automatically adds that group to the Total column. You can turn off the Totals columns so that students can't see that but you can't make it where the assignment group totals don't count in the overall Total.
