[ARCHIVED] Determine a registered student?

Hi everyone,

I just was wondering how your institutions determine who is a registered student in Catalog by meaning a full-time student at the university taking term-based courses? Because it can't just be by their email address. Is there something you have in place to recognize this we would love to hear about it. Thank you in advance for your help.
