We will be enabling the Immersive Reader tool soon within our instance of Canvas. We have a few courses where we'd like to disable the option. As an example - one of our foreign language courses doesn't want to have the tool in place as it could allow them to translate the text of a page into a different language.
Is it possible to disable the tool on a per course basis?
We also have this question. Considering that Immersive Reader is great for accessibility, only disabling the Translation feature in Immersive Reader at course level would be great.
@costwink and @XinzhuWang ...
It looks like the "Microsoft Immersive Reader" Feature Option can be enabled/disabled at the Canvas account level. It's either on or off...with no options to enable/disable it per course, unfortunately. If it's on, it's on for everyone. If it's off, it's off for everyone.
How do I manage new features for an account? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Sorry I don't have better news for you, but hopefully this helps to answer your question.
This is helpful, thank you! Wish Canvas could have the course-level feature soon...
