[ARCHIVED] Displaying total grades as whole numbers?

I want to calculate grades without any decimals, thus rounding to whole numbers only. Is there a way to set that up in a shell?

 @ed_hall , are you talking about the Total column in the gradebook or something else? In general, no what is displayed in the gradebook in the total column (other than if you switch from percentage to points) or assignment group columns is set and can’t be changed.

I am talking about the total. I have faculty that are trying to enter grades such as 39 of 40. This shows up as 97.5% when another application shows that the student earned an 98%. My faculty member would have to get a calculator out and figure out to enter 39.2 of 40 in order to have the grade display as 98%. It would be a good feature to allow instructors to select how many digits in the decimal because if this student had two 39 of 40, Canvas would show the grade as a one point lower than the actual grade.

Absolutely, this is an essential problem that has not been fixed. Thousands of individual percentages need to be changed BY HAND at our uni by poor overloaded admin folk. This easy fix should have been put in place by now. In short final percentages need the option to be expressed as whole number percentages - not to 2 decimal places.

Has this ever been answered.  I too need to display whole grade percentages in "total" column and not decimals.

I also need individual assignments to display as whole numbers AND not the decimal point. We integrate with Skyward and I want a whole number passed back to Skyward, WITHOUT me having to manually adjust them in Canvas first. This defeats the whole purpose
