[ARCHIVED] Does Canvas support webp images?

I downloaded a textbook cover from Amazon and was surprised the image is in webp format. Canvas does not list webp in Supported Image Formats.

Does Canvas support webp images? Or do I have to convert it before I upload it?

I've never worked with webp images, but if the Guide you linked to does not list that kind of image type, then my guess is that it is not supported.  If you are able to convert it to a supported file type, that's the best option for you before you put it into Canvas.
