[ARCHIVED] Embedded Google Slideshows in Duplicated/Imported Courses

I have been editing my Canvas course for this new year. This entails editing Google slideshows, as well, to update them. I have come to find out that when I edit my Google Drive version of the slideshow directly, the changes do not update on my new Canvas course.

Upon looking at the file locations, Canvas is creating a new version of the slideshow! I am editing the other version. What did I do wrong such that I do not have the same live slideshow in my new Canvas course? Is there anyway to fix this? 

At this point I will have to re-embed ALL my slideshows as I go through the year. 😞
