I have spent a ridiculous number of hours in Announcements trying to embed some videos not supported by Canvas apps. Without background in HTML, I've stumbled around with creating or inserting embed codes, searching Canvas guides and using numerous online tools, and occasionally I've gotten lucky. But this CNN video will not work, no matter what I try. It just always reads, "www.cnn refused to connect." Is there any way to embed this?? Otherwise half my students won't bother to click another link....
Thanks!

It's likely that the owner of the webpage, in this case CNN, is choosing not to allow iframe embedding.
Owners of webpages can do this and unfortunately I'm not aware of any workaround in such cases.
I found a site that generates the embed code for CNN!! I know I've been obsessive about this - but finally something works:
https://iframely.com/domains/cnn
And the correct code:
I am curious if anyone knows how this site is able to provide the right code, yet other tools like zazzlemedia, etc. cannot??
Thanks for your help!
Barbara
Hello there, @ble ...
Looking at the video link you shared on CNN's website, I don't see anything on that page that gives you embed code to use on any kind of website. I also spent a little time searching Google to see if I could find anything about embedding CNN videos, but I didn't find anything of substance. This tells me that CNN videos probably cannot be embedded on other websites, and you may need to just provide a link for your students to click on. I know that might not be ideal for you and your students, but that is probably going to be your best option at this point.
Sorry that I don't have better news for you, but I hope this helps to answer your question.
