[ARCHIVED] Equations and certain characters not showing up

I am having a problem with certain things like equations and characters not showing up when I am looking at assignments and descriptions of assignments on canvas. I have had this problem before but I just used a different computer but now I don't have that option and need to figure out how to get this fixed on my Canvas. I can't figure out what it is about what she is typing that makes it not show up, and sometimes the dash shows up in it's place. How do I fix this? I have attached an example of what I see.

 @ryliew , greetings! From your question, I'm not totally sure if you are a teacher or a student. My guess is a student and if that's correct, then I would let your Instructor know you are having problems and also contact Canvas Support (Help link in Canvas --> Report a Problem) to see if they can help. If you are an Instructor, then I'd contact Canvas Support at your school to see if they can help.
