Tha gradebook how can I get a total grade for a student when one of the assignments has been excluded from the total

Patty,

If you are need to exclude or exempt an assignment for a student, enter "EX" for them on that assignment.  Do so will remove it from being considered in the grade totals.  For instance, if there is 300 points possible in the course but you've enter EX for one student on a 10 point assignment, for that student there is only 290 points possible and the grade will be calculated as such in the Total column.
