[ARCHIVED] Good accounting discussion questions

I'm working with an instructor on an upper level accounting class. The previous version of the course had some ho-hum discussion questions. He's fairly new, and I'd love to give him some ideas for good discussion questions. Does anyone have some awesome discussions for an accounting course? This is a managerial accounting course, but I think just anything would help jump start the brainstorming.

Hi,  @venitk , having never taught accounting, I definitely don't have an immediate answer to your question, but I wanted to let you know that I've flipped the format over to an open-ended discussion since it's likely to prompt multiple good responses with no single one emerging as uniquely correct—and that I've shared it with the Higher Education‌ and Teaching Math in Canvas‌ groups to attract the attention of your fellow subject matter experts. You won't need to join those groups to see their answers appear here, but if you'd like to join, you can easily do so by clicking on the Actions dropdown at the upper right of each group home page and selecting Join Group from the menu.

 @venitk , these aren’t accounting specific, but they might help - Discussion Questions for Statistics‌. I put them together because people often think that math doesn’t lend itself to fun or interesting discussion questions.
