Jeremy Perkins' blog entry from 2019 is excellent but on following the guide, including escull's edit to the non-minified script and including the GA4 Measurement ID in line 168, no data is presenting.

 Is there an updated guide to inserting GA4 Measurement ID into Canvas?

I looked into this for you but on the Canvas end, we do not have guides for this. I looked over google here https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7372977?hl=en but this seems to be the only info they have on the tracking ID

Thanks for responding. The old UA tracking code works perfectly well on Canvas, but the new GA4 tracking code does not. I'll flag this to Google.

Thanks for sharing this guide, but the one I need is specific to Canvas as it works fine with the current UA code but not with the new GA4 code.

Were you able to figure out how to update the GA4 code on Canvas? I am working on it and facing the same issue where the code is not running when updated from UA to GA4

No, I've been too busy, up to this week, to chase this up but I certainly will as the huge amount of work put into Data Studio to build live differentiated dashboards for each course, had better not go to waste mid-2023.

Did you manage to integrate GA4 into Canvas?

I am having issues integrating with or without google tag manager.

We had Google Analytics for Blackboard Learn, so now that we have moved to Canvas I'd like to set up the same thing, but with the updated and more future proof GA4. I'd like a definitive guide from Canvas and some support or at least assurance I'm not negatively impacting our install by adding it. So far it does not seem like anyone has got it successfully working. We are a small shop so it needs to be a relatively simple solution that we can implement via the GUI, Theme, etc.
