Problem: Students can still edit a submitted Google doc assignment after its "deadline" has ended without being marked late. Also students can reply to instructor's reviewing and commenting directly on the doc (before the doc and grade are released).
Background: From an instructor perspective, I'm already aware and very familiar with Google tools being live and collaborative.
My question is specifically about after students submitting a Google doc assignment and then using the gradebook to review and comment on it:
- Question: is there anyway Canvas can freeze the submitted Google doc version, so no changes can happen by the student and they won't see instructor's comments (on the document) until it is released in the gradebook? I'm guessing not, but want to hear other's experiences or solutions, such as just using a Word doc file upload submission type.
