How would i set up the following:
From SME: Finally, I need a mechanism for handling people who miss the session for whatever reason. I plan to do this as follows. (a) they need to read the case and submit the pre-class assignment like everyone else. (b) after the class has happened, they need to watch the recording of it. This isn't going to be very interesting in the breakout sessions, but I don't think I can do anything about that. (c) they will need to complete and submit the post-class assignment individually. They will lose some participation points for not showing up. But they will still be able to pass the class, even though a single absence means missing 25% of the sessions.
Hi @carla6 ,
(a) Set up a pre-class assignment in Canvas with the case reading in the description.
(b) Link the recording somewhere on the Canvas site for them to view. I would recommend just putting it in the description of the post-class assignment. But this can go wherever you'd like.
(c) Create the post-class assignment as a group project. In the groups tab, just leave the individual students out of a group and when they submit it will be recorded as being submitted by them individually instead of a group.
Best,
Nick
