[ARCHIVED] Groups - changing groups when students have submitted

Hi Folks, I've set up two sets of groups, for two different assessments.

I made the mistake of assigning both assessments the same group name, which is a problem because the students have moved groups between assessments. So AT1 group name for both, when one assessment should be AT1 and the other AT2 (both having different groups of students in each).

Normally not an issue; just change the assigned settings for the assessment.

However, students have submitted work and although I haven't marked any yet, I am locked out of changing the group assignment for that assessment.

Any suggestions? My thought at this stage is to give everyone a zero for the assessment, set up a new assessment with the correct grouping assignment, and get them to resubmit.

Love a quick fix if there is one.

I've somehow managed to do this with almost every assignment this semester and it's driving me crazy!  I don't understand why I can't reassign the groups after students have submitted since only one student submits for the group it should be able to reassign the group even after submission.

Since I know which students did which work (they turned in a draft in the correct groups) I plan to just make another empty assignment to enter their scores individually.  Annoying and time consuming but I've already asked them to resubmit enough times this semester.  This is a bug that should be an easy fix though.
