Ideally, we'd like to create an assignment or quiz in Canvas, but rather than publishing it right away and getting it on the calendar for everyone to see in advance, we'd like to have the option to simultaneously post and publish the assignment or quiz at a specific time. If this were possible, we'd maintain the element of surprise in the quiz without having to precisely (or manually) time our publication and announcement of the quiz in class.
I know that within the Announcement section, you can "Delay Posting" on an announcement, but I don't see any parallel feature in the Quiz or Assignment section. Is there a workaround for this problem? Has this idea already been proposed in the "Ideas" section of the discussion boards?
Unfortunately I can't think of a way to do this other than keep it unpublished until you want it to become visible to students and then publish it. But this would be something you'd need to do manually.
As for feature ideas, here are the two that I found that seemed similar to what you are wanting:
Both have been archived so you'd need to recreate them as new feature ideas - just make sure to link back to the original - How do I create a new feature idea?
