[ARCHIVED] How can I check for correct spelling on a fill-in question?

Spelling is important, but often a student is "close" in a tough word(s) like "lophotrochozoan pseudocoelomate" where one letter wrong may be alright to be given credit. In a fill-in question, even one letter is incorrect. Is there any way I can check for these kind of close calls???

Hi,  @greg_burchett  and  Welcome to the Canvas Community! While the Old (Classic) Quiz fill-in-the-blank question type doesn't afford this functionality, New Quizzes does. Please have a look at the Select Text Match section of How do I create a Fill in the Blank question in New Quizzes? ("Close Enough," using Levenshtein distance). If your school has enabled New Quizzes, you can turn it on in the Settings | Feature Options section of the course—and both the old and new tool can be used concurrently in a course, so you could in theory create a whole quiz of the New Quiz type consisting of fill-in-the-blank questions that take advantage of the more robust text match options afforded there and maintain your assessments in the Classic Quiz interface.
