[ARCHIVED] How can my peers take the course I designed on Canvas?

I am a university student creating a simple online course that will be implemented for my peers to participate in. I do not belong to an educational organization as an educator, but for the purpose of this assignment, I will need to create a course that is accessible to my peers. How can my peers and instructor access my course?

Hi, Christina!

Canvas Free-for-Teacher accounts are the perfect place for that. If your course is ready to be shared right now, the easiest way (and the best way to limit participation to only the people you want to participate), open the Course Settings page and scroll to the bottom. Click the More Options link, and then select the first checkbox that says Let students self-enroll by sharing with them a secret URL or code. Then click the Update Course Details button. The page will reload and if you go back down to More Options, you'll see a code provided for you. You can share that information with the people with whom you want to take your course.
