[ARCHIVED] How can students make corrections?

We want students to be able to view a quiz, see which questions they missed and "correct" it while providing a reasoning for their learning for half credit per question. Any suggestions of how to do that other than to have them take it a second time and average the scores?
The problem with taking it a second time is they don't have to justify their answers anywhere...it could just be a guess...
Looking for ideas.
