I need to change a user from Student to Teacher. How do I do that?

HI  @svolandt  Thank You for your question.

Go to 'people' in your course navigation menu (left hand side)

Find the person in your course list. Then on the far right hand side of a the screen there are 3 verticle dots (kebab) click on that. The option to change their role is there.

Sing out if you need a hand.

Not sure how I'm supposed to change the option from student to instructor/teacher the three dots does not give me that option

It's possible that you do not have the proper permissions to change the role type of users within your course from students to teachers or teachers to students.  If you aren't seeing those options available to you via the "People" page, then you're going to need to have conversations with folks at your school who can help you with this request.  Often, this will be their Canvas administrator or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department.  They would be the ones who can change the role type for you so that things are properly corrected in your course.  Hopefully you'll be able to get this corrected soon...good luck!
