[ARCHIVED] How do I change an Assignment to a Page?
Good evening, @deborah_kapoorWelcome to the Canvas Community. Thanks for posting your question. Changing a type of content item from an Assignment to a Page isn't possible in Canvas. You'll have to create a separate Page in your course, move all the content from the Assignment to that Page, and then finally delete the Assignment from your course. There is a Feature Idea currently open for voting called https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/14421-changing-item-type" modifiedtitle="true" title="Changing.... If it aligns with something you would like to see implemented by Canvas engineers, I would encourage you to vote on it and post a note in that Feature Idea letting them know why a feature like this would be important to you. Thank you for replying. I am adding Pages, copying from previously-called Assignments, adding to Pages content, then deleting Assignments... very time-consuming. I just hadn’t realized I had made this error. But thank you.
Ah I see what I did. I did not create the new Page under the SAME module. I tried just now - and see that you CAN create a new PAGE under a module, copy from the Assignment page, then paste into the new PAGE, and delete the Assignment. Thanks goodness at least for that.
