[ARCHIVED] How do I change instructor's profile name?

I went into my profile to update my name. The edit button does not allow changes in name. How can I change my name?

Hi  @jmagro ...

It is possible that your school's local Canvas administrator(s) have chosen to not allow instructors/students to be able to change their name in your Canvas environment.  This might be because your name is carried over from your school's SIS (Student Information System).  You'd have to speak to your school's local Canvas admin or someone in your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see if changing your name is a possibility.  The Guides on how to do this in Canvas are:
