How do I edit a student's name?  The Canvas Guide tells me to click on the Admin link, but I do not have an Admin link.

Hi  @snrudy ‌ - The lack of an Admin link means that you are not an administrator in your Canvas installation.  I'm assuming, therefore, that you are an instructor.  Instructors indeed can not change a student's name.  You will want to check with your local Canvas administrator.  It appears from your email address that help locally is available here: Shippensburg University - Faculty & Staff Help Desk  .

Some institutions allow students to edit their own name, however.  There are instructions (for students) here:  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10628-4212710342   Assuming your institution allows it, you may want to encourage your student(s) to perhaps do this, though be aware that this would affect their names on ALL of the course sites at your institution.
