Hi  @brookemuncy ‌, thanks for your question.

If you click on the 'Edit' button top right of your page then you will be able to access the 'text box', we call it the 'rich content editor'. 

BUT if you are trying to reply in a discussion then you will need to click on 'write a reply'. This will give you the same access to edit.
