How do I get my view to be the same as my students?

There should be a link on the lower right under Import from commons, new announcement etc, that is called 'Student View' though not available on mobile for some reason...

Good luck! My experience is that I do not always see what the students see when using so-called student view. You can get a test account through your local canvas administration that will function much better than the so-called student view. The downside is you seem to need a test student for each course that you want to actually test/view as a student. Kind of klunky, but there it is.
