Are your students being notified about these Zoom recordings via a Canvas message (once the recording becomes available)? If so, it sounds like your school has Zoom LTI Pro integration connected to your Canvas environment. And, one of the options included is to send out messages when meetings are added/edit/deleted and when recordings become available. To my knowledge, there is no option to turn this on/off per section. It's just an overall setting for all courses.
I'm not sure if my response applies to you at all, but if this is the case, you might want to check with your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see if they might be of more help.
