- How do I send a message to a user in a course in the Inbox as an instructor?

Please note, however, that Canvas does not have e-mail. Questions about sending e-mail in Canvas pop up from time to time here in the Community, and I've provided a more thorough response in a previous topic that I invite you to read through about this topic: Sending email to students.
