Hello there,  @gslook  Welcome to the Canvas Community.  Thank you for posting your question.  Here are some Guides that may be of help:

Please note, however, that Canvas does not have e-mail.  Questions about sending e-mail in Canvas pop up from time to time here in the Community, and I've provided a more thorough response in a previous topic that I invite you to read through about this topic: Sending email to students.
