I'm also interested in this question. I'm moving to personalized learning. I really like the auto-grading feature of quizzes (and I allow multiple retakes to give students many opportunities to gain mastery). However, multiple choice is not a good fit when mastery is the goal, not guess and check. At this time, we are not using outcomes in Canvas as they do not sync to our SIS.
One type of assignment I use has differentiated levels. I can create a series of fill in the blank questions and enter the correct answer for any of the associated assignments. However, not every assignment has the same number of questions and I need to weight each response differently based on which version of the assignment is done by the student. And I would ideally want to add in extra credit, not just pure percentage reporting of scores. If I create multiple versions in Canvas the students think they have to complete all of the assignments, not just one. Mastery paths are not feasible since they also do not sync to our SIS, nor do they appear on the student to do list with due dates.
If I really think outside the box, it would be great if I could create a responsive quiz - choose this answer on a question to determine the next question. That would be super useful for differentiating as well.
