How do you create a CSV file in order to upload grades?

These documents should be helpful in explaining how a sample CSV can be downloaded, updated, and then uploaded back to Canvas, How do I upload changes to the Gradebook? (traditional gradebook) or https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-16546-4152813649 (new gradebook).
