Hello;  I work at Los Medanos College as a learning disability specialist, which is a California Community College. I am in discussion with other Learning Disability Specialists around the state. We share many common tasks about providing Canvas based materials for information about learning disabilities, study strategies, workshops, and similar tasks. We would like start a Canvas Group where we share resources, hold discussions, and share shell materials. How do we do that? There is no mechanism I can find to make this request so I am resorting to this channel.

Hi,  @susha281 ‌, CCC Canvas Home Base is the established Canvas Community group for California Community Colleges; you and your colleagues can use it to share resources specific to your common interests. If you aren't yet a member of that group, you can join by selecting Join Group from the Actions dropdown that displays at the upper right of the group home page.
