Hi, I have successfully paired my Canvas shell with McGraw-Hill Connect. In Canvas, I have everything go through Modules but currently, when I click on a link in my Canvas module to a Connect assignment, it automatically opens the Connect assignment in a new tab, but the previous Canvas tab reverts to the Canvas Assignments page instead of staying in Modules. Is there a way to change this, ideally for all of my Connect assignments at once? I think it will confuse students to see a different Canvas page all of a sudden, and then they'll have to navigate back to Modules to be able to continue to the next step. Thank you.
As an alternative, you can link the Connect assignment on a page in Canvas (instead of Modules). The Connect assignment launches, but students remain at the same place in Canvas.
I'm having the exact same problem. And I just added all of the Connect assignments to my modules- it took a long time to do this. I don't really want to go back and undo everything with the deployed Connect assignments. Were you able to find a solution to stop the auto launch of Connect form the Canvas assignment?
Thanks!
I just figured this out. If you go to the assignment and edit assignment settings, you can select the box "Load this tool in a new tab" and save. The assignment then remains static and does not auto launch to the Connect site. It solves the fast load of the assignment so the student can read the directions first and keeps the student tin the Module mode to navigate to the next activity in the Module.
Lmllehan,
Thanks, it did solve that problem, but it opens an extra tab. So many tabs! Is there a way to make it only open one tab?
