[ARCHIVED] How to bulk change student names already in canvas ?

We are looking to do some testing of a third party addon (analytics) to canvas and want to de-identify the data prior to doing the testing (just in case of a security breach from the third-party end).

We will be doing the testing on the test version of the canvas instance (not the prod).

Is there a way to bulk change student names (and emails) in the test version of a canvas instance to de-identify the data ?

Run the Provisioning report to get Users; edit the fields you want to remove such as names and email, and then use the SIS Import with that time to make the Changes.  You might want to check the box Override UI changes to ensure it's going to overwrite any names which may have been edited through the web interface.
