[ARCHIVED] How to download and comment on student files without saving as...?

Since I cannot use Doc viewer tools to comment on my students' essays, (because I foolishly asked for anonymous peer review and apparently these two tools are incompatible) I then tried to download all the essays to comment in Word, and then upload them again. But if I try to save my comments that means changing either the name of the file, or its location, (right?) and that seems incompatible with the bulk upload function, if I read instructions correctly. How do people manage to comment on first drafts without having to download and upload each essay individually? I am using Assignment, online submission, anonymous peer review for a first draft on which I, the instructor, also want to give feedback.
