If you wanted to give every student the same comment, is there a way to do it as "fill" or batch comment instead of pasting/typing it over and over in the Assignment Comments box?
I know it's not the same as an assignment comment, but using the Message Students Who... feature from the Grade Book or New Analytics would get an individual message to everyone who submitted. While not attached to the assignment in the same way as a comment, it would save you a lot of time.

Thank you. I was aware of that option but I am trying to keep assignment related feedback connected to the assignment...which brings up my other issue. IF I was to send the message as you suggested is there any record that I have sent it? Parents want "proof" that I notified or provided feedback.
Hi @sbridge , when I was teaching, I used [edited to add: the free version of] Phrase Express—Autotext - Boilerplate Template Manager - Text Expander—for this purpose.

Another option to look into would be Annotate Pro - It works across Canvas, Google Docs, etc. and is completely free for teachers.
