Hi everyone, exporting canvas courses to other instances is very intuitive but my recent course export(.imscc) exceeds 5GB requirement. It' 7.5 GB !! It seems like I am unable to import. What would be the best way to achieve this. Thank you so much !!!!.
Solved! Go to Solution.
@abhishek_bhatta Welcome to the Canvas Community! Wow, 5GB is an enormous course storage quota; most institutions limit courses to 500mB. Typically the largest user of course storage is videos, so your first course of action should be to identify the assets in the course that you want to export, upload the videos to external storage such as YouTube, and remove the videos before recreating the .imscc package.
If that isn't a viable solution for this use case, ask your local Canvas admin to investigate on your behalf; they might be able to increase the course storage for that course to accommodate that large import, as detailed in https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12783-415241324
