[ARCHIVED] How to prevent students from accessing a fellow students work.

I am new to creating assignments in Canvas and I found that my students can see the completed work of a fellow student when they click on their assignment.  How do I prevent this?

Welcome to the Global Canvas Community!

I think you may be talking about a Discussion thread here? If that is the case, there is an option that directs students to post first, before seeing others replies. Within Discussions, under the edit button, you will see the options below. Try placing a check mark in the "users must post before seeing replies". If this wasn't the issue you re experiencing, please provide more details so we can assist.

Thank you, I just realized I must have created some assignments under Discussion, hence, the open assignments.  I made the changes you suggested and will see how this affects what the students can see.
