HOw do I transfer multiple files from Google docs to canvas?  Do I have to download them all in order to bulk upload?

Hello  @cluce ...

I'm not aware of any way to transfer files from Google Docs directly to a Canvas course.  So, yes, I would recommend downloading the files from Google Docs first.  Then, you can upload them to your course "Files".
