I recently bought an iPad which has iOS 14 and the pictures are not being displayed on the Canvas app. However my Galaxy tab is able to display the same images. Can someone please advise on the issue. Screenshot attached, thanks!

Hi @Samanta and others on this thread.
Canvas Student Version 6.9.4 was released recently and had the following update:
- Added an option to Settings to allow cross-website tracking to temporarily fix images not loading in rich content
You can access this setting through iOS Setting > Student.
Do you know if this solves this issue?
One of my coworkers found the solution for why we were not seeing Allow Cross Site Tracking in settings for the Canvas Student app using iPads.
1. Go to Settings and choose Safari - make sure Prevent Cross-Site Tracking is turned off.
2. Now go back to settings and choose the Canvas student app. Now you will see the option to have Allow Cross-Website Tracking to be turned on or off.
Canvas is recommending to leave it turned on to be able to view images in the app. This indeed is working for us now and we are able to see images in the Canvas Student app.
I am noticing the same thing on several student iPads. The links for images are not appearing no matter what I try. Our workaround is just going to Safari and logging into Canvas from there and not using the app. There have been several problems with the app besides this one.
I'm having the same issue. I just sent a ticket with Canvas support. I've embedded images through the RCE correctly, have an updated iOS and app.

What about Canvas Student (and Teacher) apps running on Android phones? Pictures are also missing in those and there doesn't seem to be a setting to change that. It's 2023 -- almost 2024! -- why are pictures not showing on mobile apps? If they are not showing on phones, but are showing on laptops and PCs, how would an instructor know (unless students complained -- but they often don't know that something is missing unless there's a specific text reference... to each and every image).
I was sure it was all my fault, but on looking for solutions, I see a lot of webpages and videos devoted to this issue (mostly the fix is only for iOS devices, as here).
I just discovered this bug today. I wonder how many of my students have been missing content -- and for how long? This has made me kinda annoyed (that's an understatement).
I saw that update note as well, but can't find that setting. Have you found that setting? are you saying it should be under the Canvas Student app settings inside of the Settings app on the ipad? thanks!
You can find it by doing the following:
Let me know if this helps. Thanks.
Just wanted to check in to see if you found the setting and if it solved the issue? Thanks.
Canvas student app on iPad
This is what I see on teacher and student iPads when going to settings and choosing the Canvas student app. I do not have the option to turn on/off Allow Cross-Website Tracking. I have the iOs 14.2 on the iPads. Please advise how to have this access.

does anyone know of any other solutions? enabling cross site tracking DID NOT solve my issue. I'm so frustrated!
