[ARCHIVED] Inaccurate course completion status in Dashboard

My course has concluded and my students are marked as having completed the course when I look them up in "People" from my Admin page.  However, when I "act as user" for one of my students and go to their Dashboard, the course is not listed as a completed course.  This also means they cannot access the PDF of their transcript.  How can I resolve this issue so they can have access to their transcript and how do I prevent this from happening in future courses?
